Hellcats Drop Another One
|
The Topeka Predators topped the Jacksonville Hellcats, 7-5, with youngster Carlos Carranza playing a key role. Carranza was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs for the Predators in the win. Jason Loer got credit for the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 3 innings. Dean Archer got the save, his 12th in 15 chances.
The Predators got a big at-bat from shortstop Ed Villegas. For the game, Villegas went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Topeka a 7-5 lead.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Villegas said.
Topeka now has a 5-game win streak.
