Cornhuskers Turn Back Silicon Valley, 5-3
|
Kyle McWilliams had a 3-RBI game, during DeKalb's 5-3 triumph over the Silicon Valley. McWilliams contributed 1 single and 1 home run to the cause. Manny López was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 18 save opportunities. The Cornhuskers bumped their record to 71-71 with this latest triumph.
McWilliams contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for DeKalb in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, McWilliams took a fastball from Terry Yarrigle and stroked the home run to left-center. His 13th home run of the season allowed the Cornhuskers to leap in front, 4-2.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," McWilliams told the DeKalb Daily.
