Rock River catcher Nelson Marcial made his presence felt in the 5-3 Rats triumph over the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats. Marcial was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Rock River reliever An-te-hai Xin picked up the win, upping his record to 7-3. Virgil Rivard took the loss. Alonso Esquivel converted his 19th save in 23 tries.

Ben Eisner went 1 for 3 with a walk for Rock River. The 23-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Virgil Rivard. It was his 15th walk of the season.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Marcial said.

The Rats bumped their record to 84-55 with this latest triumph.
