Despite a fine performance by first baseman Daiki Nakamura, the Boise Hawks suffered a 5-4 loss to the Spokane Bulldogs. Nakamura went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Spokane reliever Pierson McClelland picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Jung-sang Lee took the loss. The last-place Bulldogs lifted their record to 63-76.
Andy Cote swatted a 2-run home run for Spokane in the bottom of the eighth. The second baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 3.
"Both teams played hard," said Spokane manager Chris Carpenter.
