Shamrocks Lose, 9-3, at The Stetson Bowl
|
Fraser Valley first baseman Shimpei Fujita made his presence felt in the 9-3 Black Bears triumph over the Pacifica Shamrocks. Fujita went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Luis González picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 2 hits, while walking 6 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 6-4. The win boosts the Black Bears to 79-59. The loss puts the Shamrocks at 85-56.
Robby Nave, who is tied for 8th in the RHL with a .515 slugging percentage, aided the Fraser Valley cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the first. For the game, the designated hitter was 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Fraser Valley skipper Casey Ramey.
