Brian Christ pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Phoenix Lights, despite Christ's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Frisco Rams at UFO Field. Frisco reliever Jorge López picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Brian Christ was saddled with the loss. The Rams bumped their record to 81-57 with this latest triumph.

The Rams got a big at-bat from third baseman Glenn Sternlicht. For the game, Sternlicht was 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 19th double of the season gave Frisco a 2-1 lead.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Matt Jackson.
