|
DeKalb beat Carson City on the strength of starter Adrián García's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. García, now 7-4, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Manny López converted his 17th save in 17 tries.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Manny López didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Carson City trailing 4-2, López retired Chris Tanner to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said López, with a wink.
