Predators Win in Glorious Fashion
|
The Spokane Bulldogs got a superb performance from pitcher Steve Vincent, but the Topeka Predators still won the game, 2-1. Vincent was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings allowing 1 run. Topeka reliever Jason Loer was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Danny Stewart took the loss for Spokane. The Predators, at 61-77, sit in 4th place in the Roy Halladay League Jim Leyland Division.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no one out and the bases empty, the batter, Ed Villegas, hit a double. It helped Topeka seize the win.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Villegas said.
