|
Benefiting from David Acosta's productive game, the DeKalb Cornhuskers downed the Carson City Mustang, 7-4. Acosta went 3 for 5 with 2 triples. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Cornhuskers. Manny López notched his 15th save in 15 chances. With the win, the Cornhuskers improved to 68-69.
Acosta came through with some timely hitting for DeKalb. With the score 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth and two down, Acosta hit a 2-1 changeup for a run-scoring triple. His 3rd triple of the season made it 4-3, DeKalb.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Acosta said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
