Bullets Turn Back Boise, 3-2

The Biloxi Bullets faced a tough opponent in Boise pitcher Mauro Vázquez, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Basque Block Field by a final score of 3-2. Vázquez went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The win was José Vásquez's in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Mauro Vázquez took the loss for Boise. Doug Durham notched his 25th save in 31 chances.
The Bullets beat the Hawks with some clutch hitting. The double by David Kopacki in the top of the fifth is a good example. With two down, Kopacki gave his team the lead, 1-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Kopacki said after the game.
Boise, at 71-66, has lost 8 straight.
