The Lights grabbed a win, 5-4, at UFO Field, overcoming a fine effort from Boise pitcher Cristo Cruz. Cruz went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Phoenix reliever Nobuhiko Newton picked up the win, upping his record to 6-6. Chuck Easton absorbed the loss. Boise's current losing streak has reached 7 games.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Phoenix shortstop Boys Blok, facing Chuck Easton, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Lights the 5-4 win.

Blok described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
