Mustang Stun Ducks, 6-5
|
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Mark Logan, the Carson City Mustang defeated the Long Island Ducks, 6-5. Logan was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Mustang. The winner was Carson City reliever Miguel Gonzáles, now 5-1. The loser was Takamasa Oki. Daladhisvara Harishandra was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 19 save opportunities.
One important at-bat for Carson City came with two out in the top of the ninth inning. With the bases loaded, Logan hit a run-scoring single, which contributed to the Mustang win.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Carson City manager Nobuharu Chikafuji.
The Mustang sit in third place in the Roy Halladay League Jim Leyland Division with a record of 64-70.
