Madison Beehive starter Eddie Ascencio turned in an exceptional performance against the DeKalb Cornhuskers at The Hive, resulting in a Madison win, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Ascencio, now 7-12. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9. The Beehive improved to 50-81.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when pinch hitter Kwan-uk Yi drew a walk. The Beehive went on to win.

DeKalb manager Eduardo Varerla said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
