|
The Long Island Ducks picked up a win at Basque Block Field, knocking off the Boise Hawks, 6-1. Starting pitcher Bobby Criss, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Criss, now 3-1. He tossed 7.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4. Long Island has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
Jess Burhoe chipped in for Long Island with a 3-run home run in the top of the second. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Long Island manager Blake Malone.
