Victory Pushes Beavers Record to 24-23
|
Beavers right fielder Vihaan Vedant put his stamp on his team's 7-4 win over the Vancouver Pioneers. Vedant went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Portland in the contest. Hajime Ota got the win, improving to 4-1. He worked 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. The Beavers bumped their record to 24-23 with this latest triumph.
Vedant came through with some timely hitting for Portland. With the score 0-0 in the top of the third and no one down, Vedant hit a 2-2 changeup for a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season made it 2-0, Portland.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Vedant.
