Cote Goes Wild, But Tune-Ups Win
Spokane second baseman Andy Cote had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Cote was 4 for 4 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4, even as Youngstown beat the Bulldogs, 11-6. Cote was named the player of the game despite the loss. Today's win puts Youngstown at 58-70, while Spokane falls to 58-71.

John Gero, who is tied for 7th in the CLL in home runs with 20, contributed to the Youngstown win with a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Gero.
