Ducks Sneak Past Bullets, 6-5
|
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Larry Zimmerman, the Long Island Ducks defeated the Biloxi Bullets, 6-5. Zimmerman was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Ducks. The Ducks bumped their record to 66-63 with this latest triumph.
The Ducks were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when designated hitter Taylor Allen turned a 0-1 fastball from Doug Durham into a bases-clearing double. The walk-off double sent a roar through the crowd and gave Long Island a thrilling 6-5 win.
"Getting the win feels nice," said Zimmerman. "More importantly, I had a good game."
