It was a good time at The Field at Richmond, where fans came to watch the Silicon Valley Hackers and Topeka Predators get after it.

Behind a solid performance from right fielder Jim Bailey, the Topeka Predators defeated the Silicon Valley Hackers, 8-3. Bailey drew 4 walks in 4 plate appearances. He scored 2 times for the Predators. César Quintana was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 3 save opportunities.

Jorge Perez had a big 2-run single for the Predators in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Topeka leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from António Domínguez and stroked the single to left. It was his 97th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Predators ahead, 5-2.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Dan Jones said.

Topeka is now 58-70. Silicon Valley is 73-55.
