Red Bulls Score Late to Upend Tune-Ups, 9-8
The Riverside Red Bulls had to overcome a big game from Youngstown third baseman John Gero to leave Red Bull Stadium with a 9-8 victory. Gero was 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Riverside reliever Scott Bernard was credited with the win, to go to 5-4. Bruce Cunningham took the loss for Youngstown. The 4th-place Red Bulls now have a win-loss record of 59-67.

John Boughner was the walk-off hero for Riverside. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Red Bulls shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Boughner.
