Bombers Lose, 7-1, at "The Fort" at B.C. Place
|
The Vancouver Pioneers picked up a win at "The Fort" at B.C. Place, knocking off the South Carolina Bombers, 7-1. Starting pitcher Humberto Saucedo was an essential part of his team's success. The loss lowers the South Carolina record to 3-2.
Akio Ishii aided the Vancouver cause with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.
"I thought we played a nice game," Ishii told the Vancouver Observer. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
