The Wolverines had to overcome a good performance from Madison pitcher Bob Campos to claim a 5-3 win at Howling Park. Campos went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Shu-de Tian got the save, his 9th in 13 chances. Wichita improves to 77-47 with the win. They lead their division by 4˝ games.
Bob Wright, who is tied for 6th in the RHL with a .947 OPS, aided the Wichita cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Wright told the Wichita News.
