Zavala Stars in Cornhuskers Win
|
The DeKalb Cornhuskers trumped the Rock River Rats, 9-5, at The Rat Hole. DeKalb left fielder Willie Zavala was named player of the game for his performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a double, while adding 8 RBI and scoring once. The Cornhuskers bumped their record to 63-62 with this latest triumph.
Zavala had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Cornhuskers went on to win.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Zavala.
