Osos Roll to 8-2 Win Over Lights
|
The Ruidoso Osos picked up a win at Bear Cave, knocking off the Phoenix Lights, 8-2. On the mound for Ruidoso was right-hander Kuniyoshi Nishiyama, who played a pivotal role in the win. Nishiyama picked up the win for Ruidoso, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 11 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. The win boosts the Osos to 67-59. The loss puts the Lights at 64-60.
The Osos got a big at-bat from catcher Jeff Ayers. For the game, Ayers went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Ruidoso a 3-0 lead.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Ayers.
