Fraser Valley left-hander David Pena was sensational in shutting out the Long Island Ducks, 6-0. The Black Bears raised their record to 69-53.

The Black Bears got a big at-bat from catcher Milt Mezzanotte. For the game, Mezzanotte went 1 for 1 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Fraser Valley a 2-0 lead.

"We had a nice day," said Fraser Valley skipper Casey Ramey.
