Lights Throttle Bullets, 5-1

The Phoenix Lights topped the Biloxi Bullets, 5-1, with left fielder Jamie Rose playing a big role. Rose was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Lights in the win. Nobuhiko Newton saved it for Phoenix. The Lights bumped their record to 64-59 with this latest triumph.
Rose contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Phoenix in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Rose took a fastball from Chris Burgess and stroked the home run to right-center. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Lights to leap in front, 2-1.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Rose. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
