The Spokane Bulldogs downed the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 6-4, at The Corn Crib. The Bulldogs were led by Matt Rushing, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. The Bulldogs go to 55-68, putting them last in the Roy Halladay League Bruce Bochy Division.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when right fielder Eddie Govin drew a walk. The Bulldogs went on to win.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Rushing told a Spokane Bulletin reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
