Beehive Continue Skid Thanks to Nakashima, Snaps
|
The Cincinnati Snaps topped the Madison Beehive by the score of 6-4, with the largest share of the credit going to shortstop Yodo Nakashima. Nakashima went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 5 for the Snaps. The winner was Cincinnati reliever Cisco Núñez, now 5-2. The loser was Eddie Ascencio. Shinji Makino got the save, his 2nd in 2 chances.
Nakashima had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-1 cutter from Eddie Ascencio, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Snaps a 6-3 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Nakashima.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Nakashima told the Cincinnati Gazette.
The 5th-place Snaps have won 4 in a row.
