DeKalb first baseman Esteban Martinez played a vital role in his team's 5-4 triumph over Sandy Springs. He went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs for DeKalb. Reliever Francisco Flores picked up the win. His record improves to 4-0. Riley Goodall took the loss. Manny López notched his 9th save in 9 chances.

Martinez had a big at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a 2-run double. The Cornhuskers went on to win.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Martinez. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
