Tune-Ups Get Close Win Over Hackers
|
The Silicon Valley Hackers got a superb performance from pitcher Ken Stein. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Youngstown. The Tune-Ups won the game, 2-1. In spite of the loss, Stein was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Youngstown now owns a record of 54-63.
Danny Lowe hit a run-scoring triple off Guo-xiu Du in the bottom of the ninth, which put the Tune-Ups in front, 2-1. In addition to the triple, Lowe had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Lowe.
