The Long Island Ducks topped the DeKalb Cornhuskers by the score of 7-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Jesus Chavez. Chavez was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 3 runs for the Ducks on the day. Stuart Organ picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-0. Adrián García was tagged with the loss. The Ducks bumped their record to 60-59 with this latest triumph.
Jess Burhoe aided the Long Island cause with a 2-run triple in the bottom of the first. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Enjoyed this one," Chavez told the Long Island Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
