León goes 3-for-4 to Pull Ducks to .500

Long Island played host to DeKalb at the friendly confines of Long Island Stadium.
Long Island third baseman Luis León made his presence felt in the 10-3 Ducks triumph over the DeKalb Cornhuskers. León was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Yasukazu Kouda was the winner. Over 8.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts.
Larry Zimmerman went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Long Island. The 23-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Chris Sanchez. It was his 18th walk of the season.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said León.
The third-place Ducks improved to 59-59.
