San Jose Municipal Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Boise Hawks and Silicon Valley Hackers.

The Silicon Valley Hackers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Tim Carson, who muffled the Boise offense en route to a tight 2-1 Hackers win at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Silicon Valley leads the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League by 2˝ games.

John Berdahl aided the Silicon Valley cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 3.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Silicon Valley manager Bob Miller said.
