Portland Beavers starter Peter McColgan was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Dallas Texans, 5-3. The Beavers bumped their record to 23-22 with this latest triumph.

Jeff Fosbrink aided the Portland cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-2 with 2 walks.

"We did enough to win," said McColgan.
