The Silicon Valley Hackers downed the Riverside Red Bulls, 8-6, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The Hackers were led by Lance Vallery, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The Hackers bumped their record to 65-45 with this latest triumph.

Vallery had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the tenth. On a first pitch fastball from Scott Bernard, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Hackers a 8-6 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Vallery.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Vallery.
