Hawks Win at Buzzard's Bay, 8-1
|
Pitcher Cristo Cruz was sensational for the Boise Hawks in his team's 8-1 triumph over the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats. Cruz received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Cruz, the winner, moves to 4-9. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 3 walks. With the win, Boise goes to 61-51, while the Beetlecats fall to 56-51.
Umito Kono, who is tied for 7th in the CLL in doubles with 23, aided the Boise cause with a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
