Mustang Clip Rats in Tight Contest

The Carson City Mustang got a strong performance from pitcher Oscar Cruz, who stymied the Rock River offense en route to a 3-2 win at The Rat Hole. Keith Noble got credit for the win, improving to 3-5. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. With the win, the Mustang improved to 51-60.
The Mustang got a big at-bat from left fielder Chris Tanner. For the game, Tanner was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the eighth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 44th hit of the season gave Carson City a 3-2 lead.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Carson City manager Nobuharu Chikafuji. "Our pregame was pretty good."
