Cornhuskers Subdue Topeka, 6-5
|
DeKalb catcher Sabino Acosta made his presence felt in the 6-5 Cornhuskers triumph over the Topeka Predators. Acosta was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. DeKalb has now won 4 straight.
The Cornhuskers got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Matt McDade. For the game, McDade went 1-1 with a home run. In the top of the ninth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season gave DeKalb a 6-5 lead.
"It was a solid team effort," said Acosta after the game.
