The Pacifica Shamrocks dealt the Silicon Valley Hackers a 5-4 loss at McCormick Field. Ian Cutter was the star on offense. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The win was credited to Miguel Torres in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Quiang Tu took the loss. The first-place Shamrocks have won 4 in a row.
Cutter had a game-changing double in the bottom of the ninth. On a 0-1 fastball from Quiang Tu, he banged a bases-clearing double to left, giving the Shamrocks a 5-4 lead. It was the 18th double of the year for Cutter.
In postgame comments to the Pacifica Daily, Cutter said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
