The Boise Hawks trumped the Ruidoso Osos, 7-4, at Basque Block Field. Boise left fielder Tal-hun Kug was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Boise reliever Hank Emmons picked up the win to move to 5-1. Fidel Castro suffered the loss. The Hawks bumped their record to 58-49 with this latest triumph.
The Hawks got a big at-bat from center fielder Salvador Cruz. For the game, Cruz was 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 52nd hit of the season gave Boise a 5-4 lead.
