Enriquez, Wolverines Wallop Black Bears

The Wichita Wolverines had no problem beating the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 13-2, at Howling Park. Francisco Enriquez led the way. He was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for Wichita. Oscar Mata got the win, improving to 10-3. He worked 9 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 2. The first-place Wolverines, at 66-38, now lead their division by 5 games.
In the bottom of the third inning, right fielder Bob Wright came through big-time for the Wolverines. With Wichita leading 1-0, he belted a 3-run home run.
"I thought we played a nice game," Enriquez told the Wichita News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
