So Cal and Rubber City duked it out at The Rubber Grounds and the Republic came out victorious.

The So Cal Republic topped the Rubber City Rhinos, 5-2, in Roberto Clemente League action at The Rubber Grounds. The player of the game was So Cal pitcher and Boise, Idaho native Tanner Johnson. The first-place Republic are now 25-18, the Rhinos 21-24.

So Cal used the bat of Kazuyoshi Takahashi to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Republic ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it did its damage.

"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Takahashi told the So Cal Gazette.
