Blazers Prevail, 5-3, Over South Carolina
|
Bloomington Blazers starter Salah bin Atif was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the South Carolina Bombers, 5-3. The Blazers bumped their record to 24-19 with this latest triumph.
The Blazers got a big at-bat from left fielder Roger Barrett. For the game, Barrett went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Bloomington a 3-2 lead.
In postgame comments to the Bloomington Times, Barrett said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
