Ducks Fall Short, 3-2, at Youngstown
Youngstown starter Ryan Davis pitched effectively against the Long Island Ducks at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum. The left-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. Youngstown reliever Yu-xing Law got the win, raising his record to 3-1. Steve Nigro was tagged with the loss. Rudy Cortez got the save, his 3rd in 3 chances.

Travis Hickey had a big run-scoring triple for the Tune-Ups in the bottom of the second inning. With Youngstown trailing 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Francisco Trevino and stroked the triple to center. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tune-Ups ahead, 2-1.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Youngstown manager Robby Tate.

Youngstown is now riding a 3-game win streak.
