Mustang Need Extras to Top Shamrocks
|
The Carson City Mustang downed the Pacifica Shamrocks, 8-6, at McCormick Field. The Mustang were led by Morgan Kowalkowski, who captured player of the game honors. He was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Carson City reliever Juan Cruz, now 4-3. The loser was Xavier Rivera. With the victory, the Mustang record now stands at 45-58.
Kowalkowski had a game-changing home run in the top of the 17th. On a 0-1 cutter from Xavier Rivera, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Mustang a 8-4 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Kowalkowski.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Kowalkowski.
