Beetlecats Stymie Cincinnati, Take 2-0 Win
|
Diego Castro pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Cincinnati Snaps, despite Castro's fine outing, dropped a 2-0 decision to the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats at Bloomfield Road. Kenny Moran got the save, his 21st in 21 chances. The slumping Snaps have lost 8 straight.
The Beetlecats got a big at-bat from designated hitter Octavio Borges. For the game, Borges was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the seventh, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Buzzard's Bay a 1-0 lead.
"Big team win," Borges said later.
