Tune-Ups Bang Out 8-4 Win Versus Long Island
|
The Youngstown Tune-Ups topped the Long Island Ducks, 8-4, in Cory Lidle League action at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum. The player of the game was Youngstown center fielder Mitsukuni Ojima. Bruce Cunningham got the save, his 5th in 8 chances. Youngstown is in 5th place in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League with a record of 42-57.
The Tune-Ups got a big at-bat from designated hitter Ming Chin. For the game, Chin went 3-5 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 17th hit of the season gave Youngstown a 5-3 lead.
"We came out aggressive," said Tune-Ups manager Robby Tate. "We came out swinging the bats."
