Loss to Ducks Extends Silicon Valley Losing Streak
|
It was a fun time at Long Island Stadium, where the Silicon Valley Hackers and Long Island Ducks tangled.
The Long Island Ducks bested the Silicon Valley Hackers, 8-2, at Long Island Stadium. Hyeon-san Chong was named player of the game. He went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Bill Brock, the winner, improved to 7-4. He held the Hackers to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3.
The Ducks got a big at-bat from right fielder Larry Zimmerman. For the game, Zimmerman went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Long Island a 3-2 lead.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Silicon Valley manager Bob Miller. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
The first-place Hackers have dropped 6 straight games.
