Adkins Now 4-8 After Subduing Black Bears
The Jacksonville Hellcats got a stellar performance from pitcher Len Adkins, who handcuffed the Fraser Valley offense en route to a 2-0 win at The Stetson Bowl. Even with the win, the Hellcats have a dismal 33-65 record.

Adkins, a native of Burlington, Kansas, was dealing all game. He kept Fraser Valley hitters off-balance, while giving the Hellcats 8 quality innings. Adkins threw 115 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 7.

In postgame comments to the Jacksonville Observer, Adkins said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
