Cornhuskers Slip Past Riverside, 3-2

Getting an impressive start from Chris Sanchez, DeKalb beat Riverside by the score of 3-2. The winner was Ray Burns in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Ed Sawyers took the loss. The Cornhuskers sit in 4th place in the Roy Halladay League Bruce Bochy Division with a record of 48-50.
Had Mitsumasa Brothers not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Brothers hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Cornhuskers.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Sanchez told the DeKalb Daily.
