Black Bears Squelch Hellcats Offense in Shutout Win
Jesús Rivera never let the Hellcats get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Black Bears to a 5-0 win. The Black Bears bumped their record to 57-39 with this latest triumph.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Yoichibei Matsubara didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Jacksonville trailing 2-0, Matsubara retired Jason Colaianni to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Matsubara, with a wink.
